Description Sandro Bonazzola 2017-10-17 12:31:18 UTC
In oVirt 4.2 we require ovirt-host for pulling in dependencies.
In downstream RHV, ovirt-host will be pulled in by 4.2 release but in oVirt we have different repos for 4.1 and 4.2 so we need to ship it in both.

On the other hand, we need RHV-H to include ovirt-host for being able to add RHV-H 4.1 to 4.2 RHV-M, so we need to ship ovirt-host before we release 4.2

Comment 2 Sandro Bonazzola 2017-10-20 07:38:29 UTC
When verifying this, please check that a 4.1 host can be added to a 4.2 engine.

Comment 3 Pavol Brilla 2017-10-25 10:11:23 UTC
Upstream only:
engine 4.2
host 4.1-pre

1. scenario:
host successfully added in 4.1 cluster

2. scenario:
basic sanity: ovirt-host removed, host added to engine, only ovirt-host installed, host up.

Installing Host host.brilla. Yum Verify: 1/1: ovirt-host.noarch 0:4.1.0-1.el7.centos - u.
Installing Host host.brilla. Yum install: 1/1: ovirt-host-4.1.0-1.el7.centos.noarch.

Hi Pavol,

Can i ask how this was verified? i'm still failing to add host 4.1 to cluster 4.1 in latest master 4.2.0-0.0.master.20171024223752.gite85d7f2.el7.centos

An error has occurred during installation of Host orchid-vds2.qa.lab.tlv.redhat.com: Failed to execute stage 'Setup validation': Cannot locate ovirt-host package, possible cause is incorrect channels

Comment 6 Michael Burman 2017-10-25 13:08:22 UTC
I'm sorry, but no way that this bug can be considered as verified, please failedQa.
You can't add any kind of 4.1 host(rhel+rhv-h) to 4.2 engine.

Comment 9 Pavol Brilla 2017-10-26 07:50:57 UTC
This was clarified via IRC communication

This is upstream bug only, 2 new bugs for downstream were created.
