Description Tahlia Richardson 2017-12-06 06:11:27 UTC
From tech review of the 4.2 OVN updates (BZ#1457031):

> If you have installed it prior to 4.2, you will need to make a manual
> update to its "networking plugin" value (set it to "oVirt Network Provider
> for OVN").
> It is likely for customers which have installed for trial in 4.1

OVN providers installed as a tech preview in 4.1 need to be manually updated for 4.2. I can add this as a note in the OVN section, but someone who already has it installed is unlikely to look there, so it would be most useful in the Upgrade Guide.

Edit provider > Networking Plugin > oVirt Network Provider for OVN

Also need to add the Networking Plugin field to the External Network Provider section of the Add Provider table:

> In the "External Network Provider" section we are missing:
> "Networking Plugin"
> the value of this field determines which implementation of the driver
> will be used on the host to handle nic operations
> this also determines which driver will be installed on the host during
host setup

Accepting into the GA program and assigning to Tahlia for review.

Tahlia, I've added a dependency on the upgrade bugs that Emma will work on, since part of your work will be adding a note somewhere in that content when it's available.
