I am running F27 on ThinkPad T470 and did not experience the bug since I enabled GUC in i915 way back with F25. I added "i915.enable_guc_loading=1 i915.enable_guc_submission=1 i915.disable_power_well=0" to my /etc/default/grub. Hope this helps at least as a workaround. I can confirm I have been having infrequent hangs too, since upgrading to F27. The hang usually occurs after resuming the machine from suspend to disk - it boots, and then once X is resumed, hangs. Should add that this is on a Dell XPS13 L322X. 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller (rev 09) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Dell Device 058b Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 26 Memory at d0000000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4M] Memory at c0000000 (64-bit, prefetchable) [size=256M] I/O ports at 2000 [size=64] [virtual] Expansion ROM at 000c0000 [disabled] [size=128K] Capabilities: [90] MSI: Enable+ Count=1/1 Maskable- 64bit- Capabilities: [d0] Power Management version 2 Capabilities: [a4] PCI Advanced Features Kernel driver in use: i915 Kernel modules: i915 Adding 'i915.enable_guc_loading=1 i915.enable_guc_submission=1' to kernel command line completely resolved this issue on X270 and haven't caused any additional issues on T470 without that problem. This bug (or some of the problems reported in comments on this bug) may be related to a kernel bug found using a (rebadged) Clevo W515LU notebook, reported in: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1551373 (apologies for typos in some of my comments there). It first appeared for me after 4.8.6-300.fc25.x86_64 I reported it on 5th March 2018, and it was fixed by 21st March in kernel 4.15.10-300.fc27.x86_64. Please tell me how do I fix my computer when the screen is black? My computer always shows the black screen which is very annoying. Please suggest me the best way to recover. Even for more help, I already visited https://www.gmailtechnicalsupportnumbers.com/forgot-gmail-password/ this site. I suspect nobody will be able to help you unless you provide more information e.g. What sort of computer are you using? desktop PC with separate screen? laptop/notebook with integrated screen? Which model? What operating system are you using (name and version) -- presumably some version of linux since you have posted to this redhat site? If you are not using a version of linux based on redhat (e.g. fedora, CentOs, Scientific Linux), you may not be able to get help on this site. Did it work previously, then stop? What preceded the change? Eg did you install a new operating system, or did it suddenly stop without any software change? If so, then you may have a hardware fault that cannot be diagnosed remotely. The more details you provide, the more likely it is that you will get useful help. Laptop does not recover from blanked screen - This is common issue faced by many people i faced this issue previous month my screen got totally blanked i cant able to understand what exactly is happening then i visit to this website https://www.supportphonenumberaustralia.com/acer-technical-support/ and my problem got totally solved. This message is a reminder that Fedora 27 is nearing its end of life. On 2018-Nov-30 Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 27. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '27'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 27 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. Fedora 27 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2018-11-30. Fedora 27 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed. This issue occurs many times for many users, if you are suffering with this problem regularly then visit https://norton.customersupportphonenumber.com/norton-antivirus.php they are dealing any kinds faults in both hardware and software. |
