Description Hesham 2017-12-23 17:49:41 UTC
Description of problem:
oVirt WebAdmin changes selected hosts itself

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
Everytime

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Put one host with Gluster volumes in Maintenance (e.g. host01)
2. Click to open that host (the breadcrumbs will show Compute > Hosts > Host01
3. Click "Remove" button to remove that host, and click "OK" without checking Force checkbox, the error message "Cannot remove Host. Server having Gluster volume" will appear the selected host will be switched to the next available host

Actual results:
oVirt should changes the selected host to other than the one user selected

Expected results:
oVirt should keep the selected host

Comment 1 Hesham 2018-01-02 12:26:58 UTC
The same behavior exists in VM list as well (maybe in all lists). This can be specially confusing and highly increases the chances of accidental data loss. To reproduce on the VM screen:

1. Mark a VM as delete protected.
2. Try to Remove that VM, it would display a message that VM has delete protection active and the selected VM will automatically shift to the next VM in the list

Comment 2 Pavel Novotny 2018-01-23 17:09:01 UTC
Verified in
ovirt-engine-4.2.1.2-0.1.el7.noarch
ovirt-engine-webadmin-portal-4.2.1.2-0.1.el7.noarch

Verified by trying to remove a delete-protected VM, as described in comment 1.

Steps:
1. Create delete-protected VM named 'vm1' and another VM 'vm2'.
2. In the Compute / Virtual Machines view, select vm1 -> Remove -> confirm.

Results:
1. 'Operation Canceled' dialog appears.
2. In the VM list, vm1 stays selected (*)
(*) there happens a short flicker of the VM selection from vm1 to vm2 and back.
The same happens also when removing a VM from the VM detail view - the current VM stays selected.
