Description Onkar 2018-01-18 07:27:36 UTC
Description of problem: Ability to use union and intersection operations between large host collections.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):6.2

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1.In All Version
2.
3.

Actual results: On multiple hosts collections not able to perform union and intersection operation in easy way.

Expected results:From the host collections view (Hosts > Host Collections), allow the ability to select multiple host collections, and have a button for a union of host collections (OR filter) or an intersection of host collections (AND filter). E.g. host_collection1 = system1, system2, host_collection2 = system1, system2, system3. Union = system1, system2, system3, Intersection = system1, system2

Additional info: Currently, a workaround using content host filters in the search box (e.g. host_collection = host_collection1 AND host_collection = host_collection2), with the ability to save the bookmarks, but this would correlate to bookmarks in order to meet granularity needs. This is not ideal, and customer would like it implemented via a supported and usable means within the UI.

Thank you for your interest in Satellite 6. We have evaluated this request, and we do not expect this to be implemented in product in the forseeable future. We are therefore closing this out as WONTFIX. If you have any concerns about this, please feel free to contact Rich Jerrido or Bryan Kearney. Thank you.
