Description of problem:
An issue with the behavior of the deletion of Manila share servers against a Dell EMC VNX backend was discovered in the VNX Manila driver. The fix has been promoted upstream to Pike and Ocata (see below) and needs to be backported directly into OSP10 since Newton upstream is closed. Without this fix the VNX Manila driver will not pass OSP10 certification.
Upstream promotions are here:
https://review.openstack.org/477863 Pike
https://review.openstack.org/481485 Ocata
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Dell EMC VNX Manila Driver: 2.0.*
How reproducible:
This issue will occur whenever a file share is deleted. The detach of the file share will fail due to changes in the output of the Manila share server, which results in a failed deletion.
- Removed "[RFE]" from BZ title since this is not a RFE.
- Removed FutureFeature keyword for the same reason.
- Added OtherQA as Dell EMC will need to QA this bug fix when added to OSP 10
There is a bug in the VNX Manila plugin that got fixed in ocata and pike upstream. Dell EMC needs this bug fix backported to OSP 10.
This bug is blocking Dell EMC from being able to certify VNX as a Red Hat OSP Manila backend with Red Hat.
Since the problem described in this bug report should be
resolved in a recent advisory, it has been closed with a
resolution of ERRATA.
