In bug#1015157 gdisk was requested for RHEL6 and brought in as version 0.8.10 (presumably that was what was in epel, see bug#1204838)

This means that RHEL6 actually has a later version than RHEL7 (0.8.6)

Of the changes [1], the most useful ones are probably the added partition types.  For example, it's not possible to create a bootable image for power with a PReP partition with 0.8.6 (this was noticed in [2]).   

Even if a larger update isn't appropriate, at least having RHEL7 as the same version in RHEL6 would be helpful
