Description Alexander Stafeyev 2018-03-26 12:45:39 UTC
Current Octavia architecture says that a booted amphora has 1 management network interface, which is linked to an internal namespace with LB network interfaces. Due to that architecture ALL amphora traffic passes through 1 neutron port.

We think this can and will cause major bottlenecks and implementing it in this way is not correct.

I see your point on this, but we would need an actual reproduction, in order to count this as a real-world problem.

Were you able to stress an amphora with tenant traffic that much, that it lost mgmt connectivity?

I started but was defeated by the challenge :(

We have a card regarding that with all needed info. Will add it in a private comment

Please set a NEEDINFO on me as soon as you are able to reproduce this.
Once this reproduces I'll triage the bug.

Next step: Alex to reproduce and demonstrate problem. Pushing this out to 13z, unless we can show severe issue that warrants fixing in GA.
