Good question :-) I haven't upgraded yet, mostly due to corporate stuff, but that stopped working on F27 too now so I guess I will soon. Ok, I bit the bullet and did the upgrade, and yes, this still happens on F28 with fwupd-1.0.9-1.fc28. HOWEVER, I'm running kernel 4.13.9-300.fc27.x86_64, because the 4.18 that comes with F28 is unusable for me ... screens continually flicker and turn on/off with it. Looks like I was running kernel 4.15.10-300.fc27.x86_64 before ... oh well, haven't found that so far. Somewhere between there and now graphics got completely messed up for me, but that's a different story. Ok ... as an experiment, I installed 4.19.0-0.rc7.git4.1.fc30.x86_64. That actually fixes my display issues, and fwupd still segfaults. (In reply to Richard Hughes from comment #14) > Does this happen on F28 or newer? Yes, it does on Fedora 29, see bug #1632783. This message is a reminder that Fedora 27 is nearing its end of life. On 2018-Nov-30 Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 27. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '27'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.
