User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.7) Gecko/20050414 Firefox/1.0.3

Description of problem:
we have two boxes which run a custom application. both boxes have the same kernel-2.4.21-27.0.2.ELsmp. one of them is spewing errors into /var/log/messages as follows:

May 2 17:08:54 sblah kernel: application bug: ourapplication(29640) has SIGCHLD set to SIG_IGN but calls wait().
May 2 17:08:54 sblah kernrl: (see the NOTES section of 'man 2 wait'). Workaround activated.

i cannot determine why one has the errors and the other does not. any input would be greatly appreciated.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
kernel-2.4.21-27.0.2.ELsmp

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
