I own an ASUS ROG STRIX GL702ZC and I installed Red Hat Fedora 28 Workstation 64 bit. I get a similar problem when trying to shut down my gaming notebook PC. Either it does not shut down completely or the fans go at full speed and I have to press and hold down the power button to turn it off after it has partially shut down. How do I get more technical information to provide to this bug report in order to solve it? I have not seen that problem lately. I am hoping it has gone away with the latest kernels.. Linux kernel 4.17.6 64 bit solves this problem in my experience. I can shut down and power off my GL702ZC and restarting it works normally too. This is solved for me for now. If it acts up again, then I will update this. *********** MASS BUG UPDATE ************** We apologize for the inconvenience. There are a large number of bugs to go through and several of them have gone stale. Due to this, we are doing a mass bug update across all of the Fedora 27 kernel bugs. Fedora 27 has now been rebased to 4.17.7-100.fc27. Please test this kernel update (or newer) and let us know if you issue has been resolved or if it is still present with the newer kernel. If you have moved on to Fedora 28, and are still experiencing this issue, please change the version to Fedora 28. If you experience different issues, please open a new bug report for those.
