Comment 1 Stephen Tweedie 2005-05-13 16:23:35 UTC
This is the ext2 variant of a known ext3 compatibility problem. If you create a
symlink with an SELinux label, using a 2.6 kernel, then older 2.4 kernels will
not be able to follow the symlinks properly.

I've already fixed it in upstream 2.4; I'll attach the patch for RHEL-3 once
I've built and tested it.

Comment 3 Ernie Petrides 2005-05-13 22:04:56 UTC
Removing dependency on closed distro bug 157570.

Compatibility fix for symlinks with EAs on ext2

Comment 7 Ernie Petrides 2005-06-01 00:40:22 UTC
A fix for this problem has just been committed to the RHEL3 U6
patch pool this evening (in kernel version 2.4.21-32.6.EL).
