This is probably because you didn't have mozilla-chat installed (it is not installed by default with mozilla). The same is going to hold true with seamonkey: seamonkey-chat is required to get chat capabilities. Going to resolve this, but if you still have issues after installing seamonkey-chat, please reopen.
