PM ACK for U6 Test kernels available here: http://people.redhat.com/linville/kernels/rhel3/ Please give 'em a try and post the results here...thanks! Definitely want (or need?) some customer feedback if this is going to get in... Created attachment 116171 [details]

The relevant patch from the kernels in question...
I'd really like to hear some test results...? It has been pointed-out that this breaks kABI for RHEL3, so it will _not_ go in without some major rework... Would a global (i.e. _NOT_ per interface) setting be acceptable? A fix for this problem has just been committed to the RHEL3 U7 patch pool this evening (in kernel version 2.4.21-37.1.EL). An advisory has been issued which should help the problem described in this bug report. This report is therefore being closed with a resolution of ERRATA. For more information on the solution and/or where to find the updated files, please follow the link below. You may reopen this bug report if the solution does not work for you. http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2006-0144.html |
