1. Why exactly do you need this feature? (List the business requirements here)
A platform upgrade means a restart of pods and therefore some downtime for our applications (even if relatively minimal). In the past, some upgrades have had issues with pods not restarting automatically which have caused our applications to be down for an extended time and have needed attention from us to get them running again. It is helpful if we know when platform updates are due so we can be aware of when such interruptions might occur so our own support staff will be on standby.

2. How would you like to achieve this? (List the functional requirements here)
Redhat provide a facility for Pro users to subscribe to automated emails announcing platform updates (and any status issues relevant to the cluster) - as they appear on the status page.

3. Do you have any specific timeline dependencies?
Before the next update / planned maintenance would be good.

4. Would you be able to assist in testing this functionality if implemented?
Yes, certainly.

We have resolved the RFE request by implementing a mailing list. Customer's can sign up for notifications at https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/openshift-online-pro-notifications. When there is a new maintenance event scheduled, they will receive an email from the above mailing list, which then can then subscribe to that individual event for further updates.

Because the mailing list allows self-unsubscribe, it is considered GDPR compliant
