Savage DRI support is insecure and experimental, which is why it is disabled by default in the upstream source code. Once upstream fixes the security problems in Savage DRI support, and the code is considered "stable", it will be enabled by default in Xorg sources upstream, and a future release of X.Org will ship with this support enabled by default. Once upstream believes the code to be both secure and stable, and the kernel developers believe the Savage DRM to be secure and stable, we will consider including it in a future Fedora Core release. Users who wish to try the experimental DRI support for Savage, may wish to join the dri-devel.net and xorg mailing lists for assistance building and installing the necessary modules, and to help upstream get the driver secured and stablized so that it may make it into future releases. Hope this helps. |
