boot log

I recovered the boot.log using a live cd. No error detected.

After some tests i found the guilty: the rtl8188eu driver. After removing the dongle the system works.

The problem is still present in 4.17.3 kernel.

This issue has also been reported on ask.fedoraproject.org: https://ask.fedoraproject.org/en/question/123443/kernel-417-wifi-usb-restarts/

Comment 5 giaborc 2018-07-15 18:37:36 UTC
Today I updated the system and I tried kernel 4.17.5: it worked well.
Then I tried again 4.17.2 and 4.17.3 and..... they also worked.
So the bug is gone but i don't know which component was bugged, for sure it has something to do with wi-fi userland and rtl8188eu driver.
I also found a post in the kernel bugzilla that i think is related to this problem:
