Description Adam Scerra 2018-07-02 20:23:45 UTC
Description of problem:
Doc link: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_hyperconverged_infrastructure/1.1/html/deploying_red_hat_hyperconverged_infrastructure/task-configure-key-based-ssh-auth

This section gives a description of public key based ssh authentication.
The phrase 'passwordless' is never used here in the description. It seems that this description could benefit with the use added use of this phrase.

Add phrase "passwordless ssh" somewhere in here. EX. "Doing this will enable passwordless ssh between the hosts" This phrase is used in addition to "Public Key authentication based SSH" and wouldn't hurt to include both.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
rhhi 1.1

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Go to link above

Actual results:
The phrase 'passwordless' is never used here in the description.

Expected results:
Acknowledge that this will setup passwordless ssh or has the abillity to setup passwordless ssh.

This was rewritten explicitly to remove "passwordless" since it's a) not used as often as 'key-based' or 'without a password' and b) harder to translate since it isn't actually a word.

We can be more specific about the point being to configure SSH using keys without a passphrase, but passwordless itself is probably not a good idea except as an "also known as" definition.

Would appreciate your thoughts here Adam.

I do understand the careful use of the non word "passwordless". I believe 'without a password' works just fine, I feel that the point of configuring these keys gets slightly lost in translation. The words 'without a password' would ensure the user knows exactly why they are doing what they are doing.
