A flaw was found in the Linux kernel, a NULL pointer dereference can happen in hfs_ext_read_extent in hfs.ko which can occur during a mount of a crafted hfs filesystem. This can lead to a system crash and a denial of service.

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel, a NULL pointer dereference can happen in hfs_ext_read_extent in hfs.ko leading to a system crash and a denial of service. This can occur during a mount of a crafted hfs filesystem.

An HFS filesystem is not built for any Red Hat products except for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, which is no longer in development and is in Extended Life Phase (https://access.redhat.com/support/policy/updates/errata/#Extended_Life_Cycle_Phase).
