Description Marko Bevc 2018-07-13 10:28:42 UTC
Description of problem:
While trying to install Zabbix packages iksemel is not found anymore in EPEL repo.

How reproducible:
Error: Execution of '/bin/yum -d 0 -e 0 -y install zabbix-server-mysql' returned 1: Error: Package: zabbix-server-2.4.8-1.el7.x86_64 (zabbix-2.4)
                 Requires: iksemel
      Error: Package: zabbix-server-mysql-2.4.8-1.el7.x86_64 (zabbix-2.4)
                 Requires: libiksemel.so.3()(64bit)
You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest

Error: Package: zabbix-server-2.4.8-1.el7.x86_64 (zabbix-2.4)
                 Requires: iksemel

Error: Package: zabbix-server-mysql-2.4.8-1.el7.x86_64 (zabbix-2.4)
                 Requires: libiksemel.so.3

Is this intentional or has it been removed upstream?

Found it here for now: http://repo.zabbix.com/non-supported/rhel/7/x86_64/

Cheers,
Marko

It was indeed retired as a response to https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1594986. See that ticket and https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/devel@lists.fedoraproject.org/message/I5442Q55W7YE6ZFFDBZIUBE7KM2ZNTM3/

Though that probably should have gone to epel-devel as well, and probably should have been accompanied by at least a couple of bugs files against zabbix and asterisk.

In any case, it should be trivial if someone really wants to revive it, though it would probably be better if everything adapted to work without it.

Note that I have no interest in iksemel and don't even know what zabbix is; I just happened to notice the retirement and saw this ticket because all epel bugs get echoed to the #epel IRC channel.

lets close this as a duplicate of 1594986 then.
