Description Stephen John Smoogen 2000-08-11 18:23:30 UTC
In RC1, I am unable to get X to install greater than 640x480 256 colors.
This failure occurs both in the graphical install and post install using
Xconfigurator.
All other modes than 640x480 fail on X startup or during configuration.

Comment 1 Bill Nottingham 2000-08-11 18:33:18 UTC
Did it probe your monitor as anything in particular?

Comment 2 Trond Eivind Glomsrxd 2000-08-11 18:34:39 UTC
Do you have this box around here somewhere?

Comment 3 Stephen John Smoogen 2000-08-11 18:59:10 UTC
Box is in my cube... went to find you earlier. [You were at lunch.. Erik must
be letting up.. in the old days programmers were chained to a desk until
release day.] The monitor was probed during the install and came up with
a DAC code. During the Xconfigurator on post install it tries to probe and
then goes to "Custom Monitor" list.

Comment 4 Trond Eivind Glomsrxd 2000-08-11 19:55:01 UTC
Somehow, only the 50 from "50-90" in VertRefresh survives...

Comment 5 Trond Eivind Glomsrxd 2000-08-11 21:06:54 UTC
OK - fixed. "A - B" monitor range as opposed to "A-B" didn't work. Look for
4.3.46 in the 7.0test tree.
