Description Murthy Vittala. 2005-06-12 05:56:09 UTC
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; iebar; .NET CLR 1.0.3705)

Description of problem:
I use Adaptec raid card 3200s with two scsi hardisks implemeting RAID 1. I use dueal processor Intel servers with 1 GB Ram.

The Redhat ES 3 loads the dpt_i2o driver perfectly and the setup completes with no errors repeating.

But when i reboot grub loads the initrd and just hangs on like that.......

My grub.conf looks like

root (hd0,0)
kernel /vmlinuz-2.4.21-4.ELsmp ro root=/dev/sda2 hdc=ide-scsi
initrd /initrd-2.4.21-4.ELsmp.img

fstab entries are

LABEL=/             /              ext3         defaults         1 1
Label=/boot         /boot          ext3         defaults         1 2
and so on........

I hope grub is not finding out the root....

When i boot with the floppy

i get the error messages stating

VFS: can't find ext2 filesystem on dev loop(7,0)
kernel panic and so on...........

I hunged up in middle instead getting the High-end server....

Thanks for the advanced help...
