Description Maxwell Bottiger 2005-06-15 12:38:53 UTC
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050524 Fedora/1.0.4-4 Firefox/1.0.4

Description of problem:
This problem occurs both on a macine updated from FC4 test 3, and also on a laptop upgraded from FC3. (Both machines are now on the official FC4).

Xscreensaver does not show any previews in xscreensaver-demo, and although it will blank the screen that's all it will do.

Here's the output from xscreensaver:

[sleepylight@localhost ~]$ ps -A | grep xscreensaver
 2816 ? 00:00:00 xscreensaver
[sleepylight@localhost ~]$ kill 2816
[sleepylight@localhost ~]$ xscreensaver
xscreensaver: 08:27:54: no keyboard or mouse data in /proc/interrupts?
xscreensaver: 08:30:50: blanked A: brk grew by 36K.
/bin/sh: /xscreensaver/grav: No such file or directory
/bin/sh: line 0: exec: /xscreensaver/grav: cannot execute: No such file or directory
xscreensaver: 08:30:50: 0: child pid 3523 (${libexecdir}/xscreensaver/grav) exited abnormally (code 126).

And here's the output from xscreensaver-demo

[sleepylight@localhost ~]$ xscreensaver-demo
xscreensaver-demo: 08:27:24: Gtk-critical: gtk_list_store_get_path: assertion `iter->stamp == GTK_LIST_STORE (tree_model)->stamp' failed

I haven't done anything to change the screensaver setup, so I'm really at a loss to figure out what went wrong.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:

In FC4 only the blank screensaver is provided by default. If you want more
screensavers you need to install the xscreensaver-extras and/or
xscreensaver-gl-extras packages.

Upgrading from test3 isn't really supported. If you can't do a fresh install of
FC4 then you'll need to manually remove your ~/.xscreensaver file after
installing xscreensaver-extras and/or xscreensaver-gl-extras.

(this step shouldn't be necessary for your upgraded FC3 install)
