Description Mohan Boddu 2018-07-20 00:36:39 UTC
meshlab failed to build from source in Fedora rawhide

https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=28200859

For details on the mass rebuild see:

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_29_Mass_Rebuild
Please fix meshlab at your earliest convenience and set the bug's status to
ASSIGNED when you start fixing it. If the bug remains in NEW state for 8 weeks,
meshlab will be orphaned. Before branching of Fedora 30,
meshlab will be retired, if it still fails to build.

Comment 4 Jan Kurik 2018-08-14 09:24:03 UTC
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 29 development cycle.
Changing version to '29'.

Comment 5 Miro Hrončok 2018-08-28 21:21:10 UTC
This blocks upgrade to Fedora 29:

 problem with installed package meshlab-2016.12-6.fc28.x86_64
  - package meshlab-2016.12-6.fc29.x86_64 requires libGLEW.so.2.0()(64bit), but none of the providers can be installed
  - meshlab-2016.12-6.fc28.x86_64 does not belong to a distupgrade repository
  - libGLEW-2.0.0-6.fc28.x86_64 does not belong to a distupgrade repository

Comment 6 Miro Hrončok 2018-08-29 16:50:25 UTC
I think I know what's going on.

Comment 7 Miro Hrončok 2018-08-29 19:44:39 UTC
x86_64 built in my scratch build, will wait for the others and push (if it works)

Comment 8 Fedora Update System 2018-08-30 08:13:27 UTC
meshlab-2016.12-8.fc29 has been submitted as an update to Fedora 29. https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2018-771749979b

Comment 9 Fedora Blocker Bugs Application 2018-08-30 08:18:24 UTC
Proposed as a Freeze Exception for 29-beta by Fedora user churchyard using the blocker tracking app because:

If meshlab is installed, it blocks update to Fedora 29.

Comment 10 Fedora Update System 2018-08-30 15:01:10 UTC
meshlab-2016.12-8.fc29 has been pushed to the Fedora 29 testing repository. If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report.

Comment 11 František Zatloukal 2018-09-03 13:23:26 UTC
Package is building fine, upgrade path from F28 to F29 with meshlab is fixed, marking as VERIFIED.

Comment 12 Adam Williamson 2018-09-10 23:26:44 UTC
Discussed at 2018-09-10 freeze exception review meeting: https://meetbot-raw.fedoraproject.org/fedora-blocker-review/2018-09-10/f29-blocker-review.2018-09-10-16.01.html . Accepted (under the block vote at the end of the meeting) as a freeze exception issue as this can prevent upgrades working without the potentially-dangerous --allowerasing , and upgrades typically run without updates-testing so there is a benefit to pushing this stable for folks trying to upgrade at present.

Comment 13 Fedora Update System 2018-09-11 12:43:17 UTC
meshlab-2016.12-8.fc29 has been pushed to the Fedora 29 stable repository. If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report.
