Description
Persona non grata

With regard to the information in paragraph 3: I do not mean automatically setting the correct time zone when you are not connected to the Internet. If there is no connection with the Internet and the user chooses the Ukrainian language, Fedora-Workstation sets the time zone for Europe Kyiv (Kyiv is the capital of Ukraine). The user can change the time zone s values at his own discretion. When installing Fedora-MATE-Compiz I see a slightly different situation; That s why I m suggesting that it might be a bug. Sound alerts would also be useful. Examples of situations in which this is required: 1. A visually impaired user has recorded an iso image on a flash drive and wants to view Fedora-MATE-Compiz, or install this distribution on the hard disk. Such a user is not able to accurately determine the moment when the system boot process is completed. A visually impaired user has to be guided by the time criterion (for example, four minutes after starting the system boot), after which he may try to run the Orca screen reader. Playing a sound notification will indicate the following: 1.1. The system boot process is complete; 1.2. The sound subsystem is all right; 1.3. For visually impaired users, this will indicate that you can now run the Orca screen reader. 2. The same applies to the case when the system is already installed on the hard disk; But you need to anticipate playing a sound notification even in the case when there is a login screen. Due to the implementation of this idea, a visually impaired user will always have evidence that the system boot process is finally completed. I would be grateful for the attention to this problem. This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 29 development cycle. Changing version to '29'. Fedora 29 MATE-Compiz already contains the NetworkManager-ppp package. Many thanks. This message is a reminder that Fedora 29 is nearing its end of life. Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 29 on 2019-11-26. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '29'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 29 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. Fedora 29 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2019-11-26. Fedora 29 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed. |
