Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce this (just switched back-n-forth several times successfully). Ideally we'd need a backtrace to debug this further (or drkonqi or abrt report) I was unable to switch from Folder View to Desktop View. Looking at the comment in https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2018-6729457bc2 I installed qqc2-desktop-style and everything seems working now.
