K.Y., I recall Stephen adding this sysfs interface. It seems we have stale kobjects in some cases. Stephen just sent a patch, which should be able to fix this: http://driverdev.linuxdriverproject.org/pipermail/driverdev-devel/2018-August/124965.html The patch is in 4.19-rc4: commit 6712cc9c22117a8af9f3df272b4a44fd2e4201cd Author: Stephen Hemminger <stephen> Date: Mon Aug 20 21:16:40 2018 +0000 vmbus: don't return values for uninitalized channels For unsupported device types, the vmbus channel ringbuffer is never initialized, and therefore reading the sysfs files will return garbage or cause a kernel OOPS. Fixes: c2e5df616e1a ("vmbus: add per-channel sysfs info") Signed-off-by: Stephen Hemminger <sthemmin> Signed-off-by: K. Y. Srinivasan <kys> Cc: <stable.org> # 4.15 Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh> *********** MASS BUG UPDATE ************** We apologize for the inconvenience. There are a large number of bugs to go through and several of them have gone stale. Due to this, we are doing a mass bug update across all of the Fedora 28 kernel bugs. Fedora 28 has now been rebased to 4.20.5-100.fc28. Please test this kernel update (or newer) and let us know if you issue has been resolved or if it is still present with the newer kernel. If you have moved on to Fedora 29, and are still experiencing this issue, please change the version to Fedora 29. If you experience different issues, please open a new bug report for those. *********** MASS BUG UPDATE ************** This bug is being closed with INSUFFICIENT_DATA as there has not been a response in 3 weeks. If you are still experiencing this issue, please reopen and attach the relevant data from the latest kernel you are running and any data that might have been requested previously. |
