I understand from pwu that this is fixed in pango-1.42.4, which is already in F28+, so we probably just need to backport to F27.

Any updates?  Some joker on FreeNode mass crashed a few hundred IRC clients by posting a unicode heart to the channel yesterday.  Any chance this could be somehow expedited?
