Could you point me to the exact error what the system throws up when you try to remove ntp package? Milind - can you please cross check why removing ntp reoves the entire redhat-storage-server package? As far as I know, a yum remove also removes the packages dependent on the package being removed.
From the yum man page ...
remove or erase
Are used to remove the specified packages from the system as well as removing any packages which depend on the package being removed.
