Description Ondrej Gajdusek 2018-09-11 14:28:16 UTC
Description of problem:
There is no API provided by Satellite to get its version.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
6.4

How reproducible:
always

Actual results:
There is no API endpoint provided to get the version of the Satellite.

Expected results:
Existing API endpoint which returns the version and release of the Satellite.

Additional info:
Satellite 5 already has this feature. Visit https://<SATELLITE5>/rhn/apidoc/handlers/ApiHandler.jsp#systemVersion

There is /api/v2/status page, does that solve your issue? It lists Foreman version. If you need to get branded version, please change the component to branding plugin, the API endpoint is there.

Comment 2 Ondrej Gajdusek 2018-09-11 16:12:45 UTC
I see the Foreman version listed in /api/v2/status. I still think that it would be good to be able to get also the branded version.

Changing component to Branding.
