Description Neil Horman 2018-09-12 13:09:12 UTC
Description of problem:
The Redfish host interface spec publishes information on BMC connectivity via smbios (https://www.dmtf.org/sites/default/files/standards/documents/DSP0270_1.0.0.pdf), and vendors would like to be able to parse this information for use in configuring host interfaces to reach the BMC. This patch:
http://git.savannah.nongnu.org/cgit/dmidecode.git/commit/?id=78539b06117cb3c533d08f14bdf7c7ea4a1a4f0a

Enables that parsing. If we could grab the latest dmidecode or backport this patch, we can enable that functionality.

HPE partner is requesting to update the dmidecode base version to 3.2(bz#1628992), once the RHEL7.7 branch is created, i will synchronize with the upstream code.

Thanks.
