Description of problem:

When one compares performance of glusterfs's readdir (operations like 'ls', find) with other local filesystems, the performance difference can be very high. Gluster performs slower than other solutions.

Depends on the usecase, where there are lot of files.


Actual results:
Slow 'ls'


Expected results:
Expectable performance from 'ls'.

This is tracker for all such bugs, and the cause of each bug can be different, but idea is to keep one bug referenced for all such bugs, so the efforts can be coordinated.
