can you try adding -r 48000 to the /etc/esd.conf file on the line that starts with spawn_options= I'm not running esd, I'm just using alsa.
Regardless, I changed /etc/esd.conf and forced mplayer and xmms to use esd. I
went to
xmms
-> Options
-> Preferences
-> eSound Output Plugin 1.2.10
and played an mp3. I also did
mplayer -ao esd 202-Yer_Blues.mp3
mplayer -ao alsa -s 48000 202-Yer_Blues.mp3
All of these had the distortion when I did the 'dd' command while the file was
playing.
This is a mass-update to all currently open Fedora Core 3 kernel bugs. Fedora Core 3 support has transitioned to the Fedora Legacy project.
