Description John Fulton 2018-12-18 13:25:47 UTC
When ceph-ansible 3.2 is available, customers will want to migrate to bluestore because it offers performance benefits. However, as per the doctext of bug 1640273, if they just change the `osd_objectstore: bluestore` on an existing cluster, then they'll get a failed deployment and if the ceph-storage servers are restarted the OSDs won't come online.

Thus, we need a procedure to help customers transition away from the deprecated ceph-disk tool while they migrate to the new bluestore backend. The procedure to migrate ceph-ansible, without director, is described in the doctext of bug 1640273. However, users of director need to follow a slightly different procedure.

This affects RHHI-C documentation too.
