Description Robbie Harwood 2018-12-18 21:23:17 UTC
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #1430935 +++

ncurses-base includes several other rxvt variants, but not this one. It is a reasonably common emulator, and having to drag in the terminal itself (including all dependencies) is not great for headless systems. Other distros (e.g., Debian) include this terminfo in their bundle.

In Fedora, this could be worked around by installing rxvt-unicode-256color; however, this is not present in RHEL-8, so the workaround isn't possible.

Comment 1 Miroslav Lichvar 2019-10-31 09:13:49 UTC
It seems there is now an rxvt-unicode package in epel8. If ncurses-base adopts the terminfo entry, it needs to be coordinated with the epel package to avoid file conflicts.

Comment 2 Robbie Harwood 2019-10-31 15:37:59 UTC
Not to worry, that's also me. Just say when you're ready and I'll drop the terminfo stuff from epel8.
