A vulnerability was found in GNU Binutils due to a memory leak in the _bfd_generic_read_minisymbols function within syms.c in libbfd, where an attacker could exploit this flaw by persuading a victim to open a specially crafted file, resulting in excessive memory consumption and causing a denial of service condition.
