This is a common symptom observed when we don't have lru-limit. bz#1511779, which is proposed for 3.4.4 should resolve this issue.

If customer is not ready to upgrade yet, I recommend them to switch off 'io-cache' based on 2 factors to reduce the memory increase impact.

#1.
> [io-cache.priv]
> page_size=131072
> cache_size=33554432
> cache_used=3781612435840
> inode_count=27512
> cache_timeout=1
> min-file-size=0
> max-file-size=0

The above looks too high, hopefully disabling should help.

Sorry for missing it out earlier. In our testing, we haven't seen any major impact to server due to turning of 'io-cache'. Please go ahead.

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1685361 opened for tracking the pending issue of io-cache showing higher value. The current issues are resolved with comment#8, and also the lru-limit patch in RHGS-3.4.4. Will be closing as WORKSFORME.
