image it moving really fast ... Is anyone woking this bug? Hi Jim, This bug is quite unusual. Are you running a stock Fedora Core 4 installation, or is there something unusual/beside the norm in your setup? In particular, are you using any 3rd party X drivers? I'm tentatively assigning this problem to the metacity component, but it's rather hard for me to imagine a bug in metacity that could cause this behavior. It may be an xorg issue. This is a basic bone stock install of FC 4 gnome only. I'm in the process of updating all the xorg updates. As far as X drivers are concerned, when I installed, the install detectd the card and that was that. Its a notebook with the intel centrino package. from lspci 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics Device (rev 02) 00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics Device (rev 02) xorg related rpms ]$ rpm -qa | grep xorg fonts-xorg-75dpi-6.8.2-1 xorg-x11-devel-6.8.2-45 xorg-x11-Mesa-libGLU-6.8.2-37.FC4.48.1 xorg-x11-twm-6.8.2-37.FC4.48.1 xorg-x11-font-utils-6.8.2-37.FC4.48.1 xorg-x11-deprecated-libs-6.8.2-45 fonts-xorg-100dpi-6.8.2-1 xorg-x11-xfs-6.8.2-45 xorg-x11-6.8.2-45 xorg-x11-Mesa-libGL-6.8.2-37.FC4.48.1 xorg-x11-xauth-6.8.2-37.FC4.48.1 xorg-x11-deprecated-libs-devel-6.8.2-45 xorg-x11-xdm-6.8.2-37.FC4.48.1 fonts-xorg-base-6.8.2-1 xorg-x11-libs-6.8.2-45 xorg-x11-tools-6.8.2-37.FC4.48.1 even with these updates still the same problem. Now the only thing I have installed xorg wise is the xorg-x11-deprecated-libs-devel-6.8.2-45 & xorg-x11-deprecated-libs-6.8.2-45. This was to fix the [Bug 161242] libvgahw.a is broken in FC4, replacing it with FC3's solves the problem. So maybe this is a by product of that. i'll try removing those rpms and see if it makes a difference. Well I don't want to remove these... ~]$ sudo rpm -e xorg-x11-deprecated-libs-devel-6.8.2-45 xorg-x11-deprecated-libs-6.8.2-45 error: Failed dependencies: xorg-x11-deprecated-libs-devel is needed by (installed) openmotif-devel-2.2.3-10.FC4.1.i386 libXp.so.6 is needed by (installed) xpdf-3.01-0.FC4.1.i386 libXp.so.6 is needed by (installed) openmotif-2.2.3-10.FC4.1.i386 libXp.so.6 is needed by (installed) openmotif-devel-2.2.3-10.FC4.1.i386 Any thoughts? I reinstalled FC4 and the issue has gone away |
