Comment 1 Javier Coscia 2019-02-26 19:04:25 UTC
Not available with virsh, sorry, it's through virt-install with virt-clone

Comment 4 Katerina Koukiou 2020-11-24 14:52:18 UTC
PR sent upstream: https://github.com/cockpit-project/cockpit/pull/14954

Comment 8 Xianghua Chen 2021-01-05 08:03:49 UTC
Verified with package:
cockpit-machines-234-1.el8.noarch
libvirt-dbus-1.3.0-2.module+el8.3.0+6423+e4cb6418.x86_64

Steps:
1. Prepare an off vm
2. Click Clone, use default name, click Clone, wait until the progress is done
There is a progress bar under on the dialog, wait it's finished and progress bar is 100%
3. Run the cloned vm
It can be run successfully and the configure are identical
4. Shut down the cloned vm, check the xml of the origianl vm and the cloned vm
# virsh dumpxml vm-original > 1.xml
# virsh dumpxml vm-clone >2.xml
# diff 1.xml 2.xml
Only following configuration changes:
name
uuid
source
mac address
5. Clone another vm which has the same name with other vm
There should be an error that Invalid name for new guest
6. Run the original vm, there will no clone button for a running vm

So verified.
