Created redmine issue https://projects.theforeman.org/issues/29024 from this bug Moving this bug to POST for triage into Satellite since the upstream issue https://projects.theforeman.org/issues/29024 has been resolved. *** Bug 1882798 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Fix is in Satellite 6.9 SNAP 1 with foreman-2.3.0-0.7.rc1.el7sat.noarch Verified with 6.9.0 snap 3. Requires to set a name in Administer->Settings and page refresh or click somewhere else in the menu. The UX with hover text can be better but it's not part of this BZ. Since the problem described in this bug report should be resolved in a recent advisory, it has been closed with a resolution of ERRATA. For information on the advisory (Moderate: Satellite 6.9 Release), and where to find the updated files, follow the link below. If the solution does not work for you, open a new bug report. https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2021:1313 It would be nice if this actually got addressed. The errata change is of zero value. Could you elaborate on it being of zero value? Having the ability to change the value of a tooltip does not provide any instant indication to the user. The user must position the mouse pointer directly over the very specific, non-intuitive button. Eventually, there were followup changes[1, 2] that moved it from a icon+tooltip in the masthead to a banner above the masthead. This[2] was already merged in upstream and should go out with Satellite 6.16. Is this good enough or would you like to see that changed even further? It would have been nice to know there was a discussion on-going a year ago. :-(
If I could have used this feature on my non-prod satellite instance, that would have meet my personal needs 5 years ago.
