Description Fred van Zwieten 2019-04-08 13:10:21 UTC
Description of problem:
Documentation (https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_enterprise_linux/8/html-single/composing_a_customized_rhel_system_image/index?lb_target=stage#installing-composer-in-a-virtual-machine_installing-composer) section 2.1 (https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_enterprise_linux/8/html-single/composing_a_customized_rhel_system_image/index?lb_target=stage#installing-composer-in-a-virtual-machine_installing-composer) procedure step 5 states that the originally subscribed repositories need to be removed.

This will run into objections in a lot of companies. The systems own repositories must stay connected for regular system management, either from RHSM, RHUI or RH Satellite.

Make composer work independent of the repositories the system itself needs.

The two links are 404, but this sounds like a backend issue in lorax-composer.

Comment 2 Brian Lane 2019-04-09 15:40:27 UTC
This is what rhbz#1693801 fixes. CDN is now usable from composer.
