I'm also having this problem and I don't need to wait for it to happen. Even if I start in run level 3, make a startx and then kill the X server with a ctrl alt backspace it hangs the PC, I need to hit the power button (no reset button on this PC :-|) PC: HP compaq dc5100MT CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2.8GHz RAM: 512Mb video: on board Intel 82915G/GV/910GL with default install driver (Intel 915) SATA hard disk xorg-x11-6.8.2-31 kernel-smp-2.6.11-1.1369_FC4 (x86_64) I'll try to recompile the kernel and see if it solves the problem... If this issue turns out to still be reproduceable in the latest updates for this Fedora Core release, please file a bug report in the X.Org bugzilla located at http://bugs.freedesktop.org in the "xorg" component. Once you've filed your bug report to X.Org, if you paste the new bug URL here, Red Hat will continue to track the issue in the centralized X.Org bug tracker, and will review any bug fixes that become available for consideration in future updates. Setting status to "NEEDINFO_REPORTER", and awaiting upstream bug report URL for tracking. Thanks in advance. Closing bug due to insufficient data. If this problem is still present in Fedora Core 5, with all available updates applied, please file a bug report in X.Org bugzilla at http://bugs.freedesktop.org in the "xorg" component. Once you've filed your bug report to X.Org, if you paste the new bug URL here, Red Hat will continue to track the issue in the centralized X.Org bug tracker, and will review any bug fixes that become available for consideration in future updates. |
