Description of problem:
circles-light and circles-dark wallpaper doesn't look very well on lock screen since time and date si rendered right on new logo and Red Hat Enterpsise linux label. Please see the attached screenshot. It's not a big issue but it not looking good either.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
The bug is supposed to be filled for redhat-background package, but I couldn't find it in the list, so I hope it will find the right people.

redhat-backgrounds-80.7-1.el8.noarch

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Toggle gnome-shell overview with super key
2.Type Background
3.Click on Lock Screen and se wallpaper to either circles-light or circles dark

Actual results:
Date and time is not very readable on lock screen as the wallpaper test is shown right behind it.

Expected results:
Test and logo could be move more toward the top of bottom of the screen.

I think it's probably okay if some of the wallpapers only look good as backgrounds and don't look good on the lock screen.

as long as the lock screen background we choose by default looks good.

Allan, do you have any thoughts on this?

I guess if we did want to fix this we could:

1) hide backgrounds not suitable for lock screen by default when selecting lock screen
2) interface with brand team about redesigning the background so it works fine in both contexts
3) provide two different background variants one with the product logo centered and one without,
and auto select the right variant based on if user is choosing wallpaper or lock screen

I think my inclination is still WONTFIX but if you feel strongly we can reopen.

I agree that this is an issue, and have reported similar issues elsewhere.

Ideally one of the wallpaper guidelines would be to avoid layouts that clash with the time and date on the lock screen. We should certainly speak to the brand team about that.

Options 1 and 3 conflict a bit with where the background settings are going - in the latest upstream version we actually advertise setting the lock screen and desktop backgrounds simultaneously.
