Description Diksha Chaudhari 2019-05-06 15:15:15 UTC
Description of problem:
1. Getting error 'No host found to associate this VM with' while associating the host with compute resource on Red Hat Satellite 6.
2. Case sensitivity in the MAC address results in to failure while associating VM with compute resource.
3. Even if a single letter in the MAC address is mentioned in lower case (or vice versa) the VM fails to associate with compute resource. The MAC address has to be the same (either UPPERCASE or LOWERCASE) in the VM and the compute resource.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 6.4

How reproducible: Every time

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Disassociate an associated VM from Red Hat Satellite. On this Satellite the host consist of MAC address mentioned in LOWERCASE.
2. On vCenter, change the same MAC address of the host to UPPERCASE.
3. Try to asscociate the VM on Red Hat Satellite and it will fail with error 'No host found to associate this VM with'

Actual results: Unable to associate VM due to mismatch in the MAC address (MAC address are same but the case does not match)

Expected results: Should be able to to associate VM even if the MAC's at both places are different (uppercase/lowercase)
