Description Chris Rouch 2019-05-29 21:35:17 UTC
Description of problem:
When digikam starts it functions normally. After ~10 minutes or so it stops responding. Sometimes it will function for a short time again later.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
digikam-6.0.0-5.fc30.x86_64

How reproducible:
every time

Steps to Reproduce:
1.start digikam
2.wait
3.click on picture icons in an album

Actual results:
no response. If window is iconified and de-iconified it shows nothing. Killing the window displays a dialog "Application "digikam" is not responding"

Expected results:
large size image is shown

Additional info:

I have local collections which are automounted but from a local disk
I also have network collections automounted from a NAS.

If I strace the digikam process while it is hanging I have lots of these:
22306 openat(AT_FDCWD, "/run/udev/data/+workqueue:writeback", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)

The actual file under /run/udev/data varies.

I see lots of messages like this with journactl:
May 29 23:29:40 tucker plasmashell[1942]: kf5.kpackage: No metadata file in the package, expected it at: "/a/negatives/Ready/"

Comment 1 Chris Rouch 2019-05-31 19:29:26 UTC
Updating to rawhide (digikam-6.1.0-6.fc31.x86_64) solves this.
