This has meantime been implemented in https://github.com/containers/image/pull/1035 , included in c/image 5.7.0, so it will appear in the next Skopeo release. Just for historical purposes, the current release of Skopeo is v1.2.0. So this fix will be in the next release after that, likely versioned v1.2.1. Setting this to Post and assigning to Jindrich for any packaging/BZ needs. Since the problem described in this bug report should be resolved in a recent advisory, it has been closed with a resolution of ERRATA.
