This is not a Falkon bug. In your VNC environment, no Qt platform plugin can be initialized. Please look at the console output of Falkon (or any other Qt app), it will probably tell you more details. But in any case, the qFatal in init_platform in src/gui/kernel/qguiapplication.cpp in qtbase is getting triggered.
