Description Goutham Pacha Ravi 2019-07-24 17:47:23 UTC
Description of problem:

Currently the documentation for consuming Shared File Systems (manila) in RHOSP does not contain instructions that end users would take to create CIFS shares:

(OSP 13 link:)
https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_openstack_platform/13/html/storage_guide/ch-shares

CIFS shares, unlike NFS shares require creating a manila security service to represent the Active Directory authentication domain for the shares. End users may not be aware of this, and would currently need to rely on upstream or third party vendor documentation to understand how to create this resource.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 15 (Applicable to prior releases upto OSP 10; so back-ports will be helpful)

Comment 3 Goutham Pacha Ravi 2021-07-07 16:48:33 UTC
Re-opening and targeting to OSP 17
