Description Mahesh Yadav 2019-07-29 17:06:38 UTC
Description of problem:
Content host list: sort order using column "OS" doesn't give expected results.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
This is applicable for Satellite version 6.3 6.4 and even for 6.5

How reproducible:
100% reproducible

Steps to Reproduce:

Satellite Web UI--> Host--> content hosts--> OS column click on OS header.
This should get the host sorted according to their OS version, It is not getting sorted.

Actual results:
Data is not getting sort when we try to click on OS header of the column.

Expected results:
Data should get sort when we try to click on OS header of the column.

Sorting by other columns works fine. Just "OS" sorting fails.

Just an idea: can't it be because "OS" is not a katello (content host) attribute, but "only" foreman / Host attribute? While CV/LE/registered_at/name/.. - all other attributes - are also katello attributes? That would explain why scoped search fails to order by something it does not know..?

Upon review of our valid but aging backlog the Satellite Team has concluded that this Bugzilla does not meet the criteria for a resolution in the near term, and are planning to close in a month. This message may be a repeat of a previous update and the bug is again being considered to be closed. If you have any concerns about this, please contact your Red Hat Account team. Thank you.

Thank you for your interest in Red Hat Satellite. We have evaluated this request, and while we recognize that it is a valid request, we do not expect this to be implemented in the product in the foreseeable future. This is due to other priorities for the product, and not a reflection on the request itself. We are therefore closing this out as WONTFIX. If you have any concerns about this feel free to contact your Red Hat Account Team. Thank you.
