Description XiuJuan Wang 2019-08-07 09:27:18 UTC
Description of problem:
In disconnect env, samples operator is still seeking for registry.redhat.io that makes imagestreams under openshift project unavailable.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Check samples operator config in disconnect env
2.
3.

Actual results:
The default registry is pointing to registry.redhat.io.

Expected results:
Should have a available registry to use.

Comment 1 Adam Kaplan 2019-08-08 19:51:17 UTC
@XiuJuan our understanding is that CRI-O should be configured to use a mirror for registry.redhat.io - was this done?

Comment 2 Gabe Montero 2019-08-08 19:54:59 UTC
Yep if what Adam mentioned is not done, then you have to configure samples operator explicitly to override the registry setting that come in the samples payload, i.e. registry.redhat.io

@Gabe @Brandi
4.2 release docs are under reviewing, if doc for this bug will be included in 4.2, https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BL3z5T-BL2EZWKpK-9Z461lUsAwmAaY8iOTpBgypHEk/edit?usp=sharing?

Comment 13 Gabe Montero 2019-09-27 13:26:53 UTC
IMO it is Brandi's call at this point as to when she'll be able to get it in.

Comment 14 Brandi Munilla 2019-09-27 20:30:57 UTC
We will get this content in for 4.2, it's just landing after the initial review. I'm sorry for the delay in response. Now that we have an idea where the content should go, I opened a PR (https://github.com/openshift/openshift-docs/pull/16916) with the outline for this module.

It's currently in draft form, and the actual procedure needs to be fleshed out quite a bit.

Reviews complete (on PR) and PR merged and cherrypicked.

This should have been closed due to errata shipping. Closing now.
